Discussion "Art and public space"

We invite you to the discussion "Art and public space" as a part of the public program of the Inside Out global art project by JR.

During the event, we will discuss:

  • how to work with art in public space;
  • how artistic interventions affect public space and society (especially in the context of compliance with ethical norms and responsibility);
  • how to take into account all voices during interventions in public space;
  • how public art interacts with the local community;
  • what is the role of the local government as a guarantor of taking into account the interests of the local community;
  • how public art can be a tool of international cultural diplomacy and international representation of Ukraine abroad.

The discussion will be moderated by Anastasia Platonova, a cultural critic, journalist, editor, and cultural analyst, specializing in criticism of modern visual culture, cultural policies, and the theme of memory.
