Discussion "Art and public space"

We invite you to the discussion "Art and public space" as a part of the public program of the Inside Out global art project by JR.

During the event, we will discuss:

  • how to work with art in public space;
  • how artistic interventions affect public space and society (especially in the context of compliance with ethical norms and responsibility);
  • how to take into account all voices during interventions in public space;
  • how public art interacts with the local community;
  • what is the role of the local government as a guarantor of taking into account the interests of the local community;
  • how public art can be a tool of international cultural diplomacy and international representation of Ukraine abroad.

The discussion will be moderated by Anastasia Platonova, a cultural critic, journalist, editor, and cultural analyst, specializing in criticism of modern visual culture, cultural policies, and the theme of memory.

Sestry Feldman (Michelle and Nicole Feldman), street art artists from Dnipro

Yevheniia Kuleba, a social activist, founder and head of the public organization Misto-sad, deputy of the Kyiv City Council.
