Win a sweatshirt from the Future Generation Art Prize and XOMEHKO limited edition collection

The Future Generation Art Prize and XOMEHKO are launching a contest #myfavouritesweater. The winner will get a unique sweatshirt from the limited edition collection using XOMEHKO's signature technology of compressing upcycled textiles. Yasya Khomenko created this design inspired by the exhibition of 21 Future Generation Art Prize 2021 nominees on display at the PinchukArtCentre.
The #favouritesweater contest appeals to conscious consumption and warm nostalgia. We used to make fun of daddy's jumper or mum's skirt, but at some point we started wearing them because fashion boundaries are blurring and life is becoming more conscious and sustainable.

To enter the contest, you need to:

1. Take a photo of yourself wearing an old sweatshirt that belonged to someone in your family – your dad, mum, grandparents – or your own favourite sweatshirt. The main thing is that it should bring you joy.
2. From 1 December to 19 December 2021, create a post or story on Instagram using hashtag #my favouritesweater and tag @pinchukartcentre, @futuregenarationartprize and @_xomehko_.

A panel of judges will select the winner among the contestants. The lucky name will be announced in PinchukArtCentre's social media accounts on 21 December.

Yasia Khomenko and XOMEHKO become the first participant in a series of conversations between the Future Generation Art Prize and Ukrainian designers. XOMEHKO’s team is a part of the art and culture community and feels deeply about young artists' growth, development, and opportunities to realize artists' creative potential. It represents and caters to the contemporary art and culture community that continuously reflects and questions the notions of identity, self-identification, and tradition.

XOMEHKO is about deconstruction, sustainable upcycling, and unconventional social representations. The brand was looking for a way to push the process of upcycling beyond its widespread, DIY format to sustainable, timeless production. By utilizing the technology of compressing textiles, they realized it can be used to upcycle vast amounts of previously used materials, not only those that are carefully selected but nearly everything we source. This way XOMEHKO pushes the production process forward — from the selection and remake of single pieces to timeless and sustainable upcycling.

Established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009, the Future Generation Art Prize is a biannual global contemporary art prize to discover, recognize and give long-term support to a future generation of artists.
