During the conversation with Mykhailo Rashkovetsky, we will try: ● take a critical look at the role of Oleksandr Roitburd in the formation of the artistic environment in Ukraine, in particular in Odesa, in the 1980s - 1990s;● find out what kind of climate Roitburd tried to create in the Ukrainian cultural community, what he succeeded in, and what he didn't;● determine the limits of its influence on the art system in Ukraine and relations with other participants of the artistic environment.
This conversation is a response to the main thesis of the curator of the “Power Theory” exhibition Kostiantyn Doroshenko about the relationship between Roitburd and power. In a dialogue with Mykhailo Rashkovetsky, we will look at what this government brought.
