PinchukArtCentre and Slava Frolova Foundation to hold online intensive course for primary and secondary school visual art teachers

The participants will get familiar with authors of newest educational methods, take part in workshops from contemporary artists and leading art teachers, get support of psychologists and have an opportunity to join online discussions with the intensive course lecturers.
The social importance and demand for professionals in the cultural and creative industries have been increasingly growing in the new information society. Despite that, there is a deficit in cultural and creative education and support for the domain in general observed in Ukraine. A teacher is the bearer of the knowledge, capable to help the young generation develop creative and critical thinking, preserve their individuality and establish basic notions, values and competences for further individual and professional growth.
The Intensive course speakers and lecturers:
Slava Frolova is the founder of the Foundation for Development and Support of Young Art of Ukraine, author of the cultural and social project Art Picnic, the WallFallcultural programme and the children’s drawing research contest Rokit.
Olga Shyshlova is a psychologist, art therapist, member of the board of the charity foundation Association of Children with Autism, author and presenter of educational programmes for children with disabilities at the PinchukArtCentre. In 2020, she gave classes on art for primary school in the All-Ukrainian Online School framework.
Alevtyna Kakhidze is an artist. She is a Kazimir Malevich Artist Award winner, tolerance ambassador for the UN Development Programme to Ukraine, and she works with the HeForShe movement. Since 2014, she has been teaching art to children, specifically, in the village of Muzychi near Kyiv (2014-2015) and at the Creative International Children’s School (CICS) − (2018-2019). Kakhidze has developed her own courses in drawing for children, using the processual approach and critical thinking.
Katya Buchatska is an artist and teacher in the PinchukArtCentre’s project Workshop of Possibilities. She works with varied media: sculpture, installation, photography and painting. She was a PinchukArtPrize Prize 2020 nominee. She is part of the initiative group for preservation of Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit’s photographic legacy.
Oksana Sadovenko is an artist and author of children’s educational programmes for the educational organisations Kulturny Proekt and Art4kids. She is the author of the book You and Malevich. She teaches the Art course for the 6th and 8th grades of the All-Ukrainian Online School.
Yegor Antsygin is an artist and curator. He works with such media as installation, photography, painting as well as participative projects, archived materials and land art. In 2015 – 2017, he was part of the artistic collective of concrete dates (CCD), where he implemented projects in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Wroclaw (Poland) and Brest (Belarus).
Solomia Chubai is a musician and producer of literary and music projects, and art manager. She brings up a son with autism.
Anna Kushneruk is a psychoanalyst, media psychologist, project expert at STB TV channel, mother.
The Foundation for Development and Support of Young Art of Ukraine is a philanthropic organisation established in October 2012 by Ukrainian TV host, journalist and director Slava Frolova. The project was launched with the aim of boosting Ukraine’s contemporary art and support for the new generation of Ukrainian artists. The Foundation cooperates with art centres, museums, galleries, projects and cultural events in Ukraine and beyond, and organises with its own efforts cultural events involving both young and renowned art figures of Ukraine.
WALLFALL is a programme established by the Slava Frolova Foundation for Development and Support of Young Art of Ukraine. It embraces varied projects initiated by both the Foundation itself and in partnerships with other foundations, projects, cultural centres and institutions. WALLFALL aims at drawing attention to the challenges of cultural and creative development of the children in Ukraine. It covers support for parents, educators and the children themselves.
The PinchukArtCentre was founded in September 2006 by businessman and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk. It is one the largest and most dynamic private contemporary art centres in Central and Eastern Europe. With over 3 million visitors, the PinchukArtCentre has become an international hub for contemporary art, developing the Ukrainian art scene while generating critical public discourse for society as a whole.
