One of the important topics addressed by the nominees of the Future Generation Art Prize 2024 exhibition is the experience of women. In particular, Ashfika Rahman explores the role of women in society and highlights narratives that are often overlooked or taboo. The work of Tara Abdullah reveals the experience of women from Iraq Kurdistan, where the artist grew up, and depicts how they resist violence, demonstrating the stories of their emancipation.
During Galyna Kotliuk's lecture “Women and War: (Re)thinking Women's Experiences”, we will delve into the contemporary issues of feminist discourse and discuss the following questions:● What roles do women assume in societies experiencing war? ● How do Ukrainian women form the vanguard of resistance to Russian imperialism? ● What significant role do women play in the processes of recovery and formation of new social structures after the war?
