Daryna Skrynnyk-Myska’s lecture will focus on the representation of the literal and metaphorical body in the practices of PinchukArtCentre Prize 2025 nominees Krystyna Melnyk and Kateryna Lysovenko, as well as on the metaphorical body of the painting / art object in the practice of Anton Saenko.
In particular, the following issues will be discussed:● the relationship between painting, sculpture, object, and viewer in Anton Saenko’s installation;● transformations of the traumatic experience of intimacy and the body in a state of destruction in the works of Krystyna Melnyk;● the multiplicity of experiences and the hybrid body as metaphor in the practice of Kateryna Lysovenko.
Daryna Skrynnyk-Myska is an art historian, curator, author of academic and journalistic texts on art, PhD in Philosophy, and Head of the Department of Contemporary Art Practices at the Lviv National Academy of Arts.
