It's No Coincidence That I'm Talking About This A poetry reading-happening by the literary dissociation Fringe

On Sunday, 22 June at 14:00, we invite you to the poetry reading-happening It's No Coincidence That I'm Talking About This, organised by the literary dissociation Fringe. The readings will focus on contemporary Ukrainian poetry and will resonate with the themes of the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2025 exhibition nominees.
The event will take place on the 4th floor of the PinchukArtCentre, in the space featuring the work of Lesia Vasylchenko. Admission is free.

“The baggage of our experiences grows heavier each day as we live through wartime. How should we speak about our pain and healing, our gains and losses, our feelings and sensations — and truly be heard today?
We don’t have the answer. But we sit down at the table and begin to speak — through poetry, our tool for retelling experience.
Will you speak with us? We’ll leave an empty chair for you. If you wish, sit down and read your own poem — or choose one from the table, whichever reaches your hand first.”

It's No Coincidence That I'm Talking About This is a poetry reading-happening where the text is not presented as a finished work but as material for live interpretation. The event is based on improvisation and audience participation, rather than a pre-written script.
This approach transforms poetry from a literary form into a performative practice, expanding the possibilities of poetic expression.

In addition to all other participants, the event will feature the team from the literary dissociation FringeAnna Zotova, Pavlo Shchepan and Rostyslav Kuzyk.
They will read their own poems, as well as works by other young authors that resonate with the theme of the exhibition — texts exploring the personal and the collective: memory, identity, loss and resilience.

The literary dissociation Fringe is a platform created to promote contemporary poetry and to synthesise it with other art forms.
