PinchukArtCentre is starting a recruitment for the educational course "Introduction to the Profession"
The PinchukArtCentre is launching the recruitment process for the ‘Introduction to the Profession’ course for young cultural professionals!
The program is aimed at undergraduate students and graduates of humanities disciplines who are beginning their professional careers in curating and researching contemporary art, are ready to propose bold ideas, and aspire to become active participants in the cultural sphere while implementing ambitious projects.
The training will run from mid-April to July 2025.Meetings will take place at the PinchukArtCentre twice a week.The deadline for applications has been extended to March 30: https://forms.gle/ekSUGWMLKXgC71B29
Participants will have the opportunity to:● deepen their knowledge of contemporary art; ● develop skills in analyzing artistic practices and cultural processes;● master approaches to working with contemporary contexts and developing project concepts;● enhance their ability to write about art;● gain insight into the preparation of cultural projects and the behind-the-scenes organization of exhibitions at the PinchukArtCentre.
The program will consist of several components:
Course: "History of Exhibitions in Ukraine, 1970s–2020s"Lecturer: Oksana Barshynova – art historian, curator, Deputy General Director for exhibition work at the National Art Museum of Ukraine.
Course on Contemporary Cultural Theory, Philosophy, and the HumanitiesMentor: Oleksandr Ivashyna – cultural critic, scholar, senior lecturer at the Department of Cultural Studies, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Course on Writing About ArtMentor: Kostiantyn Doroshenko – art critic, publicist, curator, and affiliated expert at the PinchukArtCentre Research Platform.
Course: "Researching the Contemporary Art Context"Mentor: Dmytro Chepurnyi – independent curator, cultural critic, author, and co-founder of the Ukrainian Network of Environmental Humanities.
Practical Component● Collaboration with curators, researchers, and the public programs department of the PinchukArtCentre.● Development of individual and group projects under the mentorship of the art center's team.● Mentorship by Oleksandra Pogrebnyak, curator of the PinchukArtCentre and Daria Shevtsova, curator of the Research Platform of the PinchukArtCentre on critical thinking about artistic practices and exhibition concepts.● Meetings with invited curators.
Participants will be selected based on their motivation, previous experience in artistic initiatives, ability to critically analyze, and additional interviews with potential candidates.

Valeriia Dehtiarova – manager of educational programs at the PinchukArtCentre,Oleksandra Pogrebnyak, curator of the PinchukArtCentre.Kateryna Rusetska, co-founder and program curator of the Center for Contemporary Culture in Dnipro (DCCC), the NGO Culture Medial, and the festival of experimental music and contemporary art Konstruktsiya.Olha Shyshlova, Deputy Artistic Director of the PinchukArtCentre.
A scholarship and partial employment opportunity may be available for one participant from outside Kyiv and the Kyiv region, based on the results of the interview.
