Troyer is a book of poetic mourning for the Jewish people killed during the Jewish pogroms of 1919–1921. The narration on the tragic fate of the Jewish families develops through a lyrical and visual story. By combining typography with graphic works, Hofstein and Chagall create stunning and painful depictions of despair, rage and protest against violence.
