We invite you to the lecture of Natalia Kryvda "Traumatic experience of the nation and cultural identity" as a part of the public program of the Inside Out global art project by JR.
Natalia Kryvda — Doctor of Philosophy, professor of KNUTSH, academic director of MBA programs at the Edinburgh Business School. Expert of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. Member of the Expert Council on Overcoming the Consequences of Totalitarianism and Russification at the MKIP. In the focus of interests are the problems of cultural history, political mythology, cultural politics and politics of identity, identification, and cultural trauma, commemoration practices.

During lecture of Natalia Kryvda, participants:
● learn what cultural identity is and how it is formed;● will talk about the traumatic experience and why trauma, according to Kathy Caruth, tends to manifest itself;● will discuss a possible strategy of retraumatization in Ukrainian society, consider the concepts of the politics of memory and the politics of forgetting;● will talk about how trauma affects the consolidation or destruction of identity;● will try to talk about the Russian-Ukrainian war from the point of view of cultural trauma and identity in a European context.
The lecture will take place on August 30 at 7:00 pm in the exhibition space on the 3rd floor of the PinchukArtCentre.
